Hokkaido is the northernmost island in Japan with its capital Sapporo. It is located near Russia and has a number of mountains and volcanic plateaus. Summer in Hokkaido is relatively cool because of the island’s geography. In addition, the island offers beautiful scenery and elaborate history. It might be a perfect getaway if you want to escape the heat of summer while experiencing Japanese rich culture.

This capital of Hokkaido has a lot of things to offer. Although the city is more widely popular for its winter and spring festival, you can still enjoy many summer attractions there. You can visit Moerenuma Park to enjoy the open summer air and enjoying serene view of the park. You can also visit Mount Moiwa to get the beautiful scenery of Sapporo.

Furano is well-known for its beautiful rural landscape. If you want to get in touch with nature and see beautiful scenery, this place is perfect for you. You can visit the infamous Furano Flower Fields, Biei, and Blue Pond.

Rebun is a separate island from Hokkaido but is still a part of the prefecture. If you enjoy hiking or trekking, this place might be your haven. This island has large variety of flowers that are sometimes can only be found in this island. It is also known for its delicious seafood dishes.

This city is located in between Sea of Japan and Sea of Okhostk. Because of the geography, the city is characteristically windy and known as ‘wind town’. This is a suitable place if you enjoy the coastal atmosphere. You can visit Wakkanai Park, Cape Soya, and other tourists’ attractions during your stay.

This is another coastal city with a rich historical background. If you want to enjoy good seafood and beautiful classic scenery, you should visit this place. The most famous dish from Hakodate is its shio ramen.

Daisetsuzan is the largest national park in Japan located in the middle of Hokkaido (in the spans of Kamikawa and Tokachi) where you can enjoy the scenery of mountains like Mount Asahi, Mount Tokachi, Mount Ishikari and also many great onsen spots.
