With autumn right around the corner, travelers and locals should start planning how to enjoy one of the most beautiful seasons in Korea. Seoraksan National Park is an impressive destination all year round, but it becomes even more charming with the fall foliage. Named Seoraksan ('Seol' meaning 'snow' and 'Ak' meaning 'big mountain'), the snow takes a long time to melt and it is the third biggest mountain in Korea. Also, it remains to be a favorite by Koreans to go hiking. Trails are well marked and visitors can choose among a variety of walks, from just a few hour trails for families to one-day routes for experienced hikers. Along the way, you will have the chance to find impressive waterfalls, enjoy the scenery on the valleys and visit Baekdamsa temple, surrounded by the most scenic mountain peaks.
